Inter Milan's defender, Darijo Srna, has been named the club's new technical director after being appointed as their head coach earlier this month.

Srnja is set to take on the role alongside the club's chief executive officer, Antonio Conte, and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the team's operations, including data analysis and player development.

In his capacity as technical director, Srnja will work closely with Inter's head of football operations,Football Base Camp Fabio Paratici, to ensure that the club's data analytics strategy is effective in improving performance on the pitch.

Srnja is no stranger to data analysis, having previously worked at Serie A giants AC Milan as part of their analytics department. He believes that by implementing advanced data analytics techniques, Inter can improve their performance and become one of Europe's top clubs once again.

"We need to use data analytics to our advantage and make informed decisions," Srnja said. "We want to create a culture within the club where everyone is invested in achieving success through hard work and dedication."

Srnja's appointment comes just days after Inter sacked manager Luciano Spalletti following a disappointing season which saw them finish ninth in Serie A.

The appointment of Srnja and Conte marks a significant shift in the direction of the club, with both men having a strong track record in coaching and management.
