As Benfica, one of the most successful football clubs in Portugal and Europe, continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the upcoming season, the club has announced the signing of forward João Mário on a five-year contract.
The 26-year-old Portuguese international is expected to be a key player for the team as he joins from Atlético de Madrid. He scored 18 goals in 45 appearances for Atlético last season, and his addition to Benfica's attacking lineup should provide a much-needed boost to their attack.
