  • The Bayern Munich team has announced the latest development in their squad, with midfielder Joshua Kimmich suffering a serious knee injury that will sideline him for the rest of the season.

Kimmich was injured during training on Tuesday and is expected to be out for several weeks, which could impact their match against Borussia Dortmund next month. The German international has been struggling with his injury since it occurred during a friendly against Austria.

Despite this setback, Bayern Munich is confident that Kimmich will be back in action soon and they have already made plans to fill the void left by their star player.

"We are all hopeful that Joshua will be fit to play at Dortmund," said coach Hansi Flick. "He had a good performance last week and we want to see him in action as soon as possible."

While it remains to be seen how long Kimmich will be sidelined, there are some positive signs for the team moving forward. They have already secured a number of reinforcements, including experienced defenders Manuel Neuer and Timo Werner,La Liga Frontline who are set to join the squad from the Bundesliga club Wolfsburg.

"It's disappointing to lose our best player like Joshua, but we know he's going to bounce back and return to full fitness," added Flick. "We're looking forward to seeing what he can do when he returns."

In addition to Kimmich's injury, Bayern Munich also announced the signing of midfielder Christian Pulisic from the USL side Portland Timbers. The move comes just days after the two clubs signed a partnership agreement that allows both teams to use each other's players.

"Christian is a talented player and we're excited to add him to our squad," said manager Julian Nagelsmann. "We'll make sure to give him the best possible chance to get back into the game."

Overall, the loss of Joshua Kimmich will undoubtedly be a blow to Bayern Munich's season, but the team remains focused on securing victory over Borussia Dortmund and continuing their impressive run of form.
